My thoughts for Thursday!

1..I've missed Blogging. I realize that now.  And I am jumping back in with GUSTO!!

2..Is it possible that Hayden is smarter after only 3 1/2 weeks of Kindy?  His painting/coloring repertoire has expanded significantly, he comes home with a new story every day, and his memory boggles my mind!  Yesterday was the Terry Fox run and Hayden told me Terry's whole story.  And he illustrated it.  Amazing.

3..Among Hayden's new skills is a love for scissors.  He made art out of Kleenex yesterday.  When I wasn't looking.  He gets his craftiness from his mama ;)

4.. I am trying to find new sunglasses.  I think I tried on 87 pairs yesterday, and kept texting the photos of myself to Ralph for his opinion.  I drove him crazy with the constant buzz of BBM and  I couldn't make a decision to save my soul!  Everything I really thought I liked, he did not.  Too bug-eyed, too tom cruise, too big......Aaarrgghhhhh!! Why does it have to be so difficult?? Do I have an oddly shaped face??  And, after all that, I left with NOTHING.  I need a personal shopping assistant.

5..It is hard to get a photo of all 4 of us these days.  Thanks Megan for snapping one on our camping trip in Elkton Valley!

6..I think my Spring cleaning mode was delayed until Fall.  I am suddenly in the mood to clean and purge and have a GIANT garage sale to get rid of stuff I don't really need.  Today I clean the walls......

7..I am FREAKING OUT!!  3 weeks till Mexico! I need to tape my mouth shut, stop snacking at night and lose 10 pounds.  Ambitious I know.  Please email me a crazy-good cleanse if you have one :)

8.. Does everyone know the children's book the Gruffalo? If you don't, you NEED to own it.  My kids LOVE it.  AND, we found the 1/2 hour movie adaptation (narrated by Helena Bonham Carter) which is extra awesome.

9.. I got a picture of my cats together.  (Bella-left, Gia-right) It's a miracle!  And it's only because they were waiting to be fed :)

10. I LOVE Fall.  I want to go shopping for Fall sweaters and boots and jackets and hats and scarves.  NO SOCKS.  I am really going to enjoy these precious days in the crisp air and lovely warm sunshine. And make an extra trip or two to the park.  With a pumpkin spice latte.  Skinny with no whip :)

I {heart} Keith...

Oh what a show!!
Keith Urban put on an AMAZING show
on Friday night and Keri and I were in the 16th row!

It was a very personal show, and Keith moved all over the Dome!
For our up-close viewing pleasure there was a giant screen too :)
We sang our hearts out
to the oldies and the new hits,
and danced up a sweaty little storm!

...until next time, Sweet Thing!

Hello again!

Welcome to the new face of
the Deters Blog!

We are still finding our way into our new routine
for this year.....

Hayden has started Kindy
so he is in school every afternoon.
He LOVES it.
(and he has a little crush on his teacher.)
And when we met Ms.George last night,
the first thing she said was;
"he is such a funny kid!"

Olivia has gymnastics on Monday afternoons.
She is a natural monkey and she runs and jumps and swings
for the full 50 minutes.
And she's flexible like her mama :)

AND Hayden has swimming on Monday nights....
AND he has soccer on Tuesday nights
starting next week.
Whew.
That's just the kids.

I am working with Estee Lauder, again,
in a very part time capacity.
My baby, BLINK Makeup Artistry
has kept me UNBELIEVABLY busy and I
will have completed 15 weddings by mid-October!!

Ralph has just had his 2nd knee surgery and the
big one is coming in December.
He's a machine.  Pushes though pain and keeps on going.
He's still playing hockey *cringe*
but he loves it so I keep my wife-like comments
about being safe to a minimum.

We enjoyed a whirlwind Summer of camping and sunshine
and BBQ's.....and a new batch of wine :)

There were two special 60th Birthday
celebrations too....

My Dad turned 60 in May:

Ralph's Mom turned 60 in August:

And now I think I'm ready for it to be Fall.
It truly is my most FAVORITE time of year.
Plus, with the new season, I am trying
to turn over some leaves of my own.

It feels good to be back.....
and thank you for not
abandoning my scattered little blog....XO

I swear.......

....I have NOT fallen off the face of the Earth!
I have been SO busy it's ridiculous.
And you'd have to talk to me in person....over a LARGE glass of wine
to get the whole story.

And I promise I will blog again soon.

Because this is a pretty lame excuse for a post :)

XOXO

April 20, 2006

Exactly five years ago
at 11:43 am
our whole world changed...

.....when our little boy was born

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY
Hayden!!

I can hardly believe this sweet little monkey arrived 5 years ago.
I remember all of the emotions like they were yesterday.
He challenges me every day.
He is funny and he makes me laugh,
he is sweet and kind-hearted,
and he is SO smart.

And I need to stop because my eyes are welling with tears.
Great....I'm going to be an emotional wreck today.

We LOVE you so much, little man!

10 on.....Friday?!

1..Nick & Keri have just celebrated their 5th Anniversary!!  We were supposed to be going to Aussie Rules (which got postponed....boo!) but we went out anyways :)  We went to Olives and had a deliciously decadent dinner with yummy wine and the awesome company of our best-est friends.   Afterward, we zipped over to the Casino, which we never do, and we had some serious laughs!!  I think Nick was the only one who left with any money, and I always feel guilty cause I could have bought some cool clothes for the $80 bucks we lost, but it was still really fun.

2.. I worked my last shift for Shoppers last Saturday.  Total mixed feelings.  And I think the most stressful part was driving there because of all of the crazy snow!!

3..The upside to Saturday......I got a Blackberry Torch!  I love my new toy and I love that I have a calendar and contacts at my fingertips.  I can admit that I'm a little overwhelmed by everything it does, but I'm sure I'll be an expert in no time!  e - I hear there is a SOC app??

4..It was really nice to be off on a Sunday and spend it with the family.  We puttered about for awhile, went to exchange our table at EQ3 and then went to Kitchen & Patio on the recommendation from a lady at work who said they have beautiful stuff.  She was right and everything was on crazy sale 'cause they have gone bankrupt!  We bought our first ever silk plants (for outside in the tall pots that refuse to grow anything.....and we've tried!!)

5..Olivia went into her BIG girl bed!!  No fuss.  No hassle.  Plus we sold all of her baby furniture through Kijiji on Sunday so she didn't really have a choice :)

Thank goodness for her easy going nature.  She stayed there all night and she even calls for us in the morning.  I keep thinking I'll go in and find her sleeping on the floor among a pile of toys and books :)

6..I have lost count of how many weddings I have booked.  I think I'm at 10.  Or 11.

7.. How do you work weekends, do makeup for weddings and still have time for holidays??

8..I had my first shift for Estee Lauder on Tuesday (at Holt's)  It felt kinda' cool to be at work during the week.  I had to drop of the kids, get on the train and go to work.  My old routine.  I even booked another wedding on my Blackberry while I was at the train station!  Plus I got to go for coffee with my SIL without kids running around my ankles.  A pretty good day all in all!

9.. My sister officially asked me to be her Matron of honor!  That's right.....MATRON.  And we get to wear a cool pewter colored dress.  (I'm already totally thinking about makeup!)  I'm SO EXCITED for her and I can't wait to be with her when she walks down the aisle.  I tear up every time we're on the phone and she tells me about her plans.  Now I just have to wait until next year?@#!

10.I witnessed two late-twenty-somethings in a total make-out session in Sobey's parking lot!  I pulled into a parking space on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 and they were going at it right in front of me!!  I can't even remember the last time I made out in a car.  Do people actually do that after x number years of marriage? (Maybe I've opened  a new topic for girls night dinner?!)  Ah well.  Good for them :)

10 on "I'm trying not to fear the unknown" Tuesday

1..The name sounds hilarious, the packaging is clean and simple, the price point is AWESOME, and if the products actually work......I'm hooked.  Line and sinker.  I'm a total sucker for catchy fun new products.  Check 'em out!!  Nip+Fab

2..It's LEGO mania at my house these days.  Hayden is loving his Lego mini figures and Daddy loves getting out his old Lego stash and playing too :)  It's no surprise that Hayden wants a Lego themed birthday party at the end of the month!

And look what little gem arrived in the mail today:

3.. I wonder if there is a perfect coffee pot out there that doesn't leak when you pour?@#!  We bought a $40.00 one.  It leaked.  We just bought a $100.00 Kitchen Aid and it leaks too.  Boo! All I want is a nice, hot, delicious cup of coffee in the morning.  I do NOT want to start the day by cleaning when I'm not fully awake :)

4..I bought myself some new rubber boots!  Not Bogs or anything crazy like that.....just a pair from WalMart that are lavender/pink/brown plaid.  They are fun for splashing about with the kids (I'm embracing the newly Springy weather!) and they'll be great for slipping on when we go camping.

5..I wonder if we will have any heat when we go camping??  We are going the last 2 weeks of July with Tessa & Scott and the kids.  I'm really looking forward to our annual excursion to Idaho and BC, but Summer still feels SO FAR away!!

6.. I also wonder if Hayden is going to be able to play outdoor soccer??  We are supposed to start at the end of April and I'm not sure the snow will be melted!!  If it is, the fields are going to be really wet and then they don't let you play.  Last year it was a chilly start to the season on those frosty Saturday mornings.  Now we play Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Again, I'm totally praying for HEAT!!

7..I was super impressed by the Customer Service department at EQ3 this week.  We have to return our new table because the wood is peeling/chipping!  I sent photos and they ordered me a new table.  The end.  They are SO getting some card love :)

8.. I have booked SIX weddings.  That's right....SIX.  I am in the process of trying to book number SEVEN.  You won't see me on Saturday mornings for the whole Summer.  I'll be beautifying brides and their wedding parties!

9.. I hope I have made the right decision about leaving Shoppers.  I hope Estee will turn out to be the change I am looking for.  I'm afraid it won't be the consistency I had.  I'm afraid the  kids I won't adjust to using a day home.  I'm afraid I won't find a GOOD day home.  I'm afraid if things don't work out I'll seem like a failure.  I'm worrying a lot these days.

10. We hit Stir Crazy today....WOWZERS!!  It is a really cool place for the kids to play and I hardly saw Hayden the whole time!  (He was the sweaty little turquoise-blue clad streak that whizzed by every now and again.)  Getting him to leave was the hardest part 'cause he was having too much fun!!  Olivia was a little more cautious but she had lots of fun dragging Mommy up and down the slides.  Perhaps that's why the girls and I never had a chance to sit down and chat :)

My Shutterfly book has arrived!

10 on "down with germs!" Tuesday

1..Hayden was a super-sickie this week.  Poor little dude.  It started with his first headache, then a super high fever, gross cough and just generally feeling ROTTEN.  He has been completely lethargic and NOT himself :(  He fell asleep on the floor while I was making lunch.  He fell asleep on the couch while watching TV.  I put him to bed and he slept for another 45 minutes.  I kept thinking, "who is this kid, and what did he do with my energetic little boy??"

2..I painted Olivia's toes & fingers.  She loves that I always have different nail polish so she wants some too.  I had to set her up with Dora on TV, juice and a snack to get her to sit still and dry :)

 3.. Olivia is sometimes a lefty and sometimes a righty.....but she's always a cutie :)

4.. I got a new different job!  I'm going back to Estee Lauder!  This is good news for T and K who LOVE the ANR eye cream :)  I'm super excited that I get to go in and do different events in different stores, so you'll see me all over the city!  I also plan to use this job to make some great contacts for BLINK!

5.. I am in the process of booking another wedding for BLINK!  All 3 of my Summer weddings are booked back-to-back so I'm going to be a busy lady!

6.. Does anyone else watch "An Idiot Abroad?"  It is a super funny documentary-type-series about an "idiot" named Karl who gets sent around the world to see the Seven Wonders by his friend Ricky Gervais.   It is laugh-out-loud hilarious and Ralph and I are hoping they can convince Karl to do a second series.  You've got to check it out :)

7.. And then on Friday, it was Olivia's turn to get sick.  Fever kept going up.....she wouldn't eat dinner....threw up on Mommy......had a bath and went to bed.  Now she sounds like a little buzz-saw with her scratchy throat!

8..Ralph found the coolest ice cube-freezer-thingys made by SCHUR:

http://www.schurconsumerproducts.com/skabeloner/skabelon10/?id=10&setlanguage=2

We have the ones that are long and skinny for re-usable water bottles.  They are AWESOME!  Don't order them, I can hook you up with a bag of 20 for $0.99!!

9.. Ralph brought me home new hanging files, new file folders and a bunch of labels.  I'm giddy at the thought of beautifying my filing cabinet.  I'm a freak.  I know.

10. Something occurred to me.....I have a lot of funny little peccadillos.  Perhaps we all do.  Maybe I'm just one of the ones who can point them out and have a good laugh about them.  Don't even get me started on dual light switches......

10 on "busy as a bee" Tuesday!

1..Dior #786 Mysterious Mauve lipstick has put me in a great mood today!

2.. And my "new" hair.  It's amazing how great you feel after having your hair re-colored. I had my grays colored back to their naturally brown state :) and got a trim.  I feel fabu!!

3.. I am very proud of my fingernails these days.  I never bit my nails but my terrible habit was to chew on my fingers.  Gross, I know.  I found a way to stop....I keep my fingernails prettily painted!  Last week was gray, this week a deep dark red, next week something new!

4..Olivia and I went swimming (with Oma, Auntie Tessa, Brody & Sienna) at the VRRI on Friday while Hayden was at school.  Olivia has no fear.  She was dive-bombing down the slide and I swear the lifeguard was looking at me like, "seriously, can't you calm your hazardous child down?!"  Come to think of it, maybe she was staring because I forgot Olivia's bikini top and she was topless :)

5..Hayden was skiing at COP for school on Wednesday.  I was SO PROUD of him!  He put his ski boots and skis on without any fear and off he went with Ed the instructor!  They learned how to scrape the snow with their skis and "make pizza" aka snow plow.  He went up the magic carpet to the top of the bunny hill.....and down he came!  I'm not sure he was super pumped about the thought of going again, but I was sure proud that he tried, and did really well at something completely new :)

6..How is it possible that I remember all the song lyrics from every old song on the radio, but I can't remember what's on my calendar for the week??

7..Hayden helped bottle our new batch of Pinot Grigio.  He was quite intrigued by the whole process.  Kids drink wine in France at an early age, right?!

Thankfully, he wasn't impressed with the taste :)

8..We put a new mirror in our entryway.  I love how it looks.....but it needs a new table to go underneath it so it doesn't look lonely :)

9..Trying to find a LEGO cake pan has been impossible!  The one I found has been discontinued.  Just my luck :(  Guess I'll attempt to do the slab cake/cupcake homemade version of the lego block.  But I think I have some super cool cookie cutters coming from Holland?!

10.I have a photo shoot tonight, at the Big Picture studios,  and I'm looking forward to doing some pretty makeup!!

10 on "I need to smile more" Tuesday

1..Ralph goes in for knee surgery today.  The worst part?  The unknowns.  He goes in at 11:30 but he could be done anywhere between 6:30 and 8:30.  That seems like such a long time!  Then, depending on what they find when they open up his knee, he could be out of commission for 2 days....or two weeks.  I know he's nervous but because he's tough and he doesn't want me to worry, he pretends it's not that big of a deal.  He'll be alright.  I know he's tough, but it's VERY hard for him to sit still.  We have put all appointments on hold until after today.

2..I had to laugh (to myself of course) just a tiny bit that my husband was "Nair-ing" his knee when I walked into the bathroom last night.  Have you seen how hairy his legs are??  There is a very obvious bald band around his leg.  That is much colder than the rest of his leg :)

3..Hayden gave me all of his purple fruit loops this morning.  Does he love his mama or what?!  I wasn't about to tell him that I don't like Fruit Loops :)

4..Hayden started un-parented skating lessons on Saturday.  He did AWESOME!

5..Olivia is a dancing fool!  She has some super cool new moves....

6.. We have started potty training.  We were 50/50 yesterday. I'm already about to give up 'cause I'm not sure she's ready.  Or maybe I'm not ready because I'm quickly remembering just how much work it is to stay home and closely monitor your child.  And say the words "do you need to go pee" about 85,000 times :)

7..I may be making a job change. I need a change.  My kids need a change.  Stay tuned.....

8..My skin has been total CRAP lately.  I haven't had breakouts this bad since I was a teenager.  Nothing like being a zit-covered makeup artist to help advertise your work :)

9..Hayden goes for his first ski lesson at COP tomorrow.  He's excited and I'm nervous!  I don't ski so I'll be sweating through the smiles on the sidelines.  He's going with his classmates and supposedly they don't even allow parents on the hill while the kids are having their lesson.  Fine by me 'cause I'm sure I would only induce panic in him.  Or maybe I should hop in on the lesson and learn how myself :)

10.My sister got ENGAGED in Jamaica on Thursday night!!  I am so excited for her and Jeret and I can't wait to help plan for her BIG day :)

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

10 on "is it Spring yet?" Wednesday

1..Olivia's birthday party was a success!  I'll be the first to admit I went a little crazy with decorating, but I sure enjoyed it!!  I kept the banner and pom-poms I made up until yesterday (Ralph took them down) 'cause I  was proud of my crafty accomplishments :) I made picks for the cupcakes that coordinated with the banner and I made Olivia's special Birthday Girl party hat.

I LOVE this banner!  It will be a staple for all my future parties....

...the pom-poms before I hung them from the ceiling...

Hot Chocolate on a stick.....a la Keri B.
...thanks for the super cool shirt, Auntie Keri!

Olivia had to call Grandma & Grandpa!

Auntie Kelly has begun PhaseI of Pony-palooza!

the Birthday Girl was allowed to eat all the snacks she wanted!

Nala (from Grandma & Grandpa) is Olivia's favorite new lovey and
she hasn't put it down since Sunday morning!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my SWEET little GIRL!!

2.. Ralph had to leave for Toronto immediately after Olivia's party.  BOO!  This is the second year this has happened but thankfully it was only for 2 nights.

3..Hayden's last indoor soccer practice/game was on Monday.  The coaches chose to give each child a ring pop for a reward for hard work.  Seriously??  Soccer ended at 5pm.  Dinner time. All you could hear in the change room was the battle cry of every child saying "I want to have it now!!" and every mom responding "not until after dinner!!"

4..Now that I have become one of those people who has to color her hair, it amazes me how fast those little gray buggers appear.  Root touch-up time!  And, I am at a point where I need to either press on with this hair growth plan, or abandon ship.  This particular phase is driving me MAD and I really feel like chopping it all off again.  But then I think, I have come this far.... how can I quit now?!  Aaarrghh!!
5..I'm going to have an Epicure party this month.  A Saturday night perhaps??  A chance to sample some of my new wine perhaps??  Oh yes, and have some food and get some spices too!  Who's in??

6..Swimming lessons done!  I have a Sea Turtle who graduated to a Salamander and a little Duck who will now be a Sea Turtle!  They were so proud.  And Hayden's instructor told him that "you were one of my favorite kids to teach this session!"  Hayden was over the moon.  And mommy was very proud too :)

7..I'm diligently working on a "Year in Review" book for the Deters family in 2010.  I'm using Shutterfly again because it's very user friendly.  I don't have the time to Scrapbook, so this is a practical way to print and love my photos.

8..Vanilla Dee-lite hand lotion from LUSH.  It's saving my poor dry hands.  I love it because it's not sticky, but it keeps your hands soft and protected.  Bonus points because it smells like vanilla and coconut.  (The girl who introduced me to this product is laying on a beach in Jamaica right now.  I hate her 'cause even though she really deserves a break I'm madly jealous because I didn't get a hot holiday this winter love her.

9.. I need bronzer today.  LOTS of bronzer.  And I'm working in layers.  Everyone should have at least one :)  Or 6 in my case.  The liquid bronzer I love (from Clairns) has been discontinued but I have a stockpile.  Thank goodness.  It looks like soya sauce and most people are scared of it but I've converted many.  It gives a nice little base glow.  I have many favorite bronzing powders from Benefit to Smashbox to the ol' reliable Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess.  It all depends how I'm feeling.  And then, the best thing ever......bronzing spray.  Either Dior or Guerlain.  It's a lovely little finishing touch of bronze mist.  And I've painted my toenails in bright pink to try and get me outta' this funk.

10.  On the bill today?  Pumpkin Spice muffins.  Hayden saw Curious George make them and he thought they sounded delish.

Look who's TWO!

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY
OLIVIA!!

I hope you had a wonderful day, baby girl!
XOXO

10 on "t minus one day until I'm 36" Tuesday

1.. We had a bottle of 2007 CATENA Malbec on Saturday night.  Capital "D" for DELICIOUS!  It was so good, in fact, that we went to Costco and bought a whole case.  We have never done that before but when you find a gem like that one, we had no choice.  Who's coming over for a glass?!

2.. Ralph took me shopping for boots this weekend.  I have been looking for the perfect pair of black, flat, knee high boots for ages.  No buckles and fringe and gak.  It's hard when you know exactly what you're looking for but can't quite find it.....until Browns!  Thank you for your patience honey!!  And thank you for the prezzie!

3.. Olivia did some shoe shopping too.....with birthday money from Grandma & Grandpa.  She was much less excited than mommy to try on a new pair.  Which is weird 'cause she's a total girly-girl.  Oh well.  She'll have to learn to love her practical, but cute, new kicks :)

4.. Ralph is taking me to dinner and a movie tonight!  Thanks to Jen for watching the kids :)  We're going to see the King's Speech.  It's supposed to be awesome....

5..There is NO SCHOOL for Hayden this week.  ALL WEEK.  (Plus he still gets a full week break at the end of April!)  Now I have to keep 2 kids busy with activities.  Here's hoping for some warm weather!

6..Hayden got his first birthday party invitation from a non-family member!  The crappy part?  He can't go because it's the same day as Olivia's.  Boo!  I compromised and told him that he could in turn invite his classroom friend to his birthday party in April.  Crisis averted.

7.. My car has NEVER been this dirty!!  It's a bit embarrassing actually.  I have been "going to wash it" for a few days now and today it's snowing again.  Aaarrgghhhh!  I may have to go anyway because it's pretty difficult to drive when you can't see out the windows :)

8..I finished Twilight last night.  I know there are a few of you who told me it was awesome and I'm a believer now!  On to the second book.....I'm dying to see if Edward can be persuaded to change Bella forever!!

9..In case I missed anyone on my email list, my email addy has changed.  I am now kdeters@shaw.ca or kara@blinkmakeup.ca.

10. I'll be 36 tomorrow.  I think I'll open a new bottle of that yummy Malbec and drink the whole thing :)

10 on "oops....it's not Tuesday?!"

1..As I walk around my house, I realize I didn't really choose colors that were child friendly.  And perhaps, that there are no paint colors that are immune to marks when there are cars and toys flying down the stairs!  The brown trim in our house (on the baseboards and banisters) is taking a serious beating!!  Time again for touch-ups!

2..Grandma & Grandpa came for a visit!!  There were LOTS of snuggles and books to be read and games to be played.....and horsing around.  I think Grandma & Grandpa need a rest :)

3..Oh, and lots of Peek-a-boo, too:

4.. Grandma & Grandpa got the kids chocolates and stickers and cars and babies for Valentines Day.  Mommy & Daddy just got them sunglasses:

5.. Grandma & Grandpa got to see the kids at their swimming lessons on Saturday morning and they also got to watch Hayden play his second last game of indoor soccer.  I love that they got to see the kids in their day-to-day routine:

6.. I was hired by a lady to do makeup for her photo shoot. She got my name through Google (and she lives in Tuscany!)  I was going to go to her house but it didn't work out for childcare so we planned for her to some here.  She assured me not to worry as she has 5 grown children of her own.  Ok.  I begged and bribed asked the kids to be on their best behavior.  To be quiet as mice in the playroom.  We set out a picnic of snacks and turned on a movie.  Perfect right?!  Ha.  This is my life we're talking about :)

When I answered the door, she had chocolates for me, and she made cookies for my kids.  Wow.  How nice is that, right?!  She was really cool, she had amazing makeup potential (and my mind was immediately racing with ideas) and she was very easy to chat with.  Thank goodness.  20 minutes later, Olivia was the first to interrupt our appointment.  I guess she wanted to hang out with the girls.  And I'll give her credit, she quietly played on her own while I worked away.  Then, the WORST thing happened.  Olivia pooped.  Brilliant.  So much for the professional ambiance I had created.    What are the odds?@#!  My guest merely laughed and assured me to pay no mind at all.  Which was difficult considering the smell :)  Then, Hayden came upstairs.  I assumed he was coming up to tell me he needed to poop.  Instead, he demanded more juice.  Seriously?@#!  I need to lock this kid in his room until he figures out how to get his own juice work on his manners.  And his timing.  Again I excused my children, and again my gracious guest told me not to worry.  The silver lining.....she wants to have a BLINK Beauty Basics AND she loved her look AND gave me a little tip with my payment.  Nice.  I'll post her photos when the professional ones come in.

7.. I held a BLINK Beauty Basics last Thursday night (in Okotoks.....holy CRAP that's a long drive!)  I donated the prize for Ralph's Christmas party and 2 of the 6 ladies were really interested in having a party of their own.  Woot!  Here's hoping for the snowball effect I am waiting for.  And, I have another charity Beauty Basics tomorrow night.  In Lake Bonavista.  I wish someone in the NW would book a party :)

8.. Hayden got a pretty cool shirt (that he LOVES) from Auntie Keri:

9..We bottled our new batch of wine this weekend!! It's pretty "young" and it needs to age for awhile but it sure is delicious.  Think about the flavor of biting into a plum :)

10.Tessa sent me a few old photos last week and it's amazing how young we look!   Maybe I'm just feeling old and reminiscing about the skinnier, less grey and fewer wrinkles me 'cause I'm turning 36 next week....eek!

This little blast from the past was almost 9 years ago :)
